For someone needing software for a few hours each week at home, Ulead's products are hard to beat IMHO. I don't dispute for a moment that Adobe is the top choice for professionals who work with it for many hours every day. Ulead seems to put a stronger emphasis on user interface (read "easy to use"). Again, I find the work faster, easier and more intuitive than in Adobe.
Perhaps more people would try PhotoImpact if Ulead charged $299.įWIW, after trying Adobe Premier for video editing, I swtiched to Ulead's excellent MediaStudio Pro. The kicker is that the download price is only $89. This program has a brilliant feature-set with all the tools I need - including batch processing. I have this -AND- Photoshop 6 but find that everything I need to do is faster, easier and more intuitive in PhotoImpact. I can hardly believe that no one so far in this thread had mentioned Ulead's excellent PhotoImpact 7.
